Noted For: mass murderer; raped and stabbed eight student nurses to death during a burglary in Chicago on 7/14/1966. Convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death (1967). Death sentence vacated by the U.S. Supreme Court; resentenced to 400 to 1,200 years (1972); sentence then reduced to 300 years (1973). Also known as Richard Franklin Speck and Richard Franklin Lindberg.
