Actress; "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour" (1971-74, 1976-77), Silkwood (1983), The Witches of Eastwick (1987), Mermaids (1990). Won an Academy Award for Moonstruck (Best actress, 1988). Wife of entertainer Sonny Bono (1963-75) and singer Gregg Allman (1975-77). Legally changed her name to Cher in 1979.
