Noted For: baseball manager; played for the Brooklyn Dodgers (pitcher, 1954-55) and Kansas City Athletics (1956). Managed the Los Angeles Dodgers (1976-95); won four National League championships and two World Series championships (1981, 88). Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame (1997).
