Noted For: On 30 March 1981, Hinckley shot President Ronald Reagan, press secretary James Brady, police officer Thomas Delahanty, and Secret Service agent Timothy McCarthy in Washington, D.C. He attempted to assassinate President Reagan because he wanted to impress actress Jodie Foster. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity on 21 June 1982.
