Noted For: physicist; developed Feynman diagrams to express the behavior of subatomic particles. Co-recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics (1965). Wrote Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! (1985). Served on the Rogers Commission, which investigated the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster (1986) and highlighted NASA management's lack of expertise in engineering and safety issues.
